To inject new momentum for growth and achieve long-term development, ZheSu New Materials collaborated with Nanjing University to establish the Jusuclouds New Materials Joint Research Center. Supported by advanced research tools such as molecular imaging, NMR, electron microscopy, and mass spectrometry, the center is designed to conduct targeted research and development of new materials based on specific needs. This approach enables Jusuclouds to effectively meet the high demand for advanced modified raw materials in industry clusters.

Useon’s Solution

In the initial phase of contact, Useon engaged in in-depth and detailed communication with ZheSu New Materials. They analyzed which of Useon’s equipment and solutions would provide the most support in helping Jusuclouds achieve its short- and long-term goals. Useon recommended starting with the SAT35 high-torque co-rotating twin-screw extruder experimental equipment. This solution was primarily selected based on two key factors: system reliability and cost-effectiveness. The experimental equipment could meet the targeted R&D needs of new materials while keeping operating costs low, allowing the goals to be achieved with minimal expense. Jusuclouds promptly purchased and installed two of Useon’s experimental machines, marking the beginning of a strong collaboration.

Subsequently, to support mass production of the new materials, ZheSu New Materials purchased 12 additional SAT65 high-torque co-rotating twin-screw extrusion machines from Useon. This decision was largely influenced by the reliability, ease of use, and flexibility of Useon’s equipment — all backed by Useon’s comprehensive support and collaboration.

The Useon SAT65 extruders are used by Jusuclouds in fields such as material modification and masterbatch production. In this domain, the extruder, as core equipment, directly determines the efficiency of the production line and the quality of the final product.

Among these factors, the temperature control of the extruder barrel is critical, as it has a significant impact on the mechanical properties of the modified materials. Reasonable temperature settings are a prerequisite for ensuring uniform dispersion of glass fibers in the matrix and promoting thorough melting and extrusion of materials.

If the temperature is too high, material degradation can occur, compromising product performance. Conversely, if the temperature is too low, extrusion may not proceed smoothly, potentially damaging the equipment. Therefore, precise temperature control is the top priority for modified extrusion.

To meet this need, Useon’s SAT series uses Siemens control modules, allowing temperature accuracy to be controlled within ±1°C. Each barrel section can be independently temperature-controlled, enabling precise adjustments based on the characteristics of different materials.

Additionally, Useon’s SAT series is equipped with efficient heating and cooling systems, ensuring that temperature changes can be quickly responded to during the extrusion process, keeping the material within the optimal processing temperature range. This further enhances the quality and consistency of the products. The intelligent control modules also allow real-time monitoring of data such as screw speed, main motor current, and barrel temperature, and their user-friendliness has been praised by production line personnel.
