Last week we launched a new XPS chips and flakes recycle machine successfully at customer’s site in Beijing. This is a complete new recycle concept for the margins from the XPS production line.
Due to the pressure from conservation, CO2 foam XPS production line is gaining ground. However CO2 foam requires co-blowing agent such as ethanol or DME etc. which are flammable. How to recycle the XPS margins without loss of flame retardant is a big challenge besetting every XPS board manufacturers.
Our initiative solves this problem intelligently. The chips and flakes from the margin of the XPS production line or from the unqualified XPS boards will be conveyed to a feeding silo by air.
These chips and flakes will be pushed into kneading extrusion system which will crush and compact it into semi-molten condition. Then the semi-molten lumps will be extruded into a thick sheet that will come into a pelletizer to make it into small granules as in the picture.
